How do I get an Eaton 9130 UPS to signal a Macintosh running OS X Yosemite or Mavericks over the network to shut down on utility power failure?Connecting the Mac to the 9130 by USB works, but I don't want the UPS in the same room due to fan noise. There appears to be dead links on the Eaton website when you select OS X as the operating system to download Intelligent Power Protector or Intelligent Power Manager - which comes in Windows, Linux and VMware flavors but apparently nothing for Mac OS X.Or does Eaton not support Mac environments where network shutdown notification is required? Hi David,Thanks for your reply. I gather that means that Eaton has no interest in the Macintosh enterprise market. For what it's worth, I had tried the 5110 on USB, and OS X did not register it as a power source. I have tried the 9130 over USB, and it does correctly register as a power source, but 9130's are too noisy to use in an office setting. So at this present time, on my office Macs, I am reluctantly using APC Back-UPS 1500G as the only viable alternative, which I hate. If Eaton supported network client shutdown on Mac OS X, I would hard-wire a power feed from my data center to run my office Macs.In my data center, I run several Macs as servers and would rather not have to connect each Mac by a dedicated USB connection to a dedicated 9130, but I have no choice.Since Eaton has chosen to ignore the Mac OS X market, I am frustrated and inconvenienced. Otherwise, I find Eaton's product offering vastly superior to the competition. It would seem that while Eaton supports every other operating system, that somehow it is a 'political' decision to shun the Mac OS X market, which is beyond me.

I do however urge Eaton to reconsider its position, as it is otherwise perhaps the most highly respected UPS manufacturer in the business. Thanks again for your attention. I've also had a lot of difficulty connecting both Maverick and now Yosemite Macs to an Eaton 5PX UPS running the Network Management Card.I was successful in getting Mavericks to work with NSM software, even though it isn't supported.

However I do not have the same success with Yosemite. The software installs, I can connect to the UPS, I can even perform the test the utility failure or shut down test and Yosemite responds. However as soon as I restart the Mac, it loses connection to the UPS (it also disappears from the notified applications on the UPS). I can't even bring up localhost:4679I certainly echo the previous statements about being disappointed with Eaton's lack of support for Mac users.
