The Steam version, while partially based off of the 2004 PC port for the sake of optimization, was based mostly off of the XBLA version of the game. This version of SADX never contained the unlockable Game Gear games, period.The recent update back in July seemed to only prevent people from replacing the Steam install with the original 2004 PC version (which people did for the sake of modding), and my guess is that Sega only made the update for that particular reason since literally nothing else about the game was changed.
