Everything you wanted to know about your bodyMy husband took an EMT course this winter and wanted to have a reference work available. A college-level text that is not for light reading but rather for intense course work. Great illustrations that might also be useful for the artist who is doing life studies and wants anatomical details. Even though this volume is a bit older, the information remains relevant. Marieb is the recognized author par excellance for this genre who sets the gold standard by which all physiology and anatomy textbooks are measured. Perfect book. Will be Useful for decades to comeI borrowed the 7th edition a few years ago when I took Anatomy and physiology I.I had to give it back and I ended up having to buy, at the time a more affordable edition for my second A & P II class.
The 6th and the 7th edition are identical except for the cover and maybe a picture or two.I loved this text book; it was so easy to read, simple words, and great photos that re-enforced the information previously read.Eventually I went into the Registered Nursing program, and I used this book almost daily. The complicated language most nursing books have made the information hard to grasp, but I found out that if I read this book along with the 'fancy' ones required for the RN program it made life easier during those two years of hell.I graduated from that hard program and I am now a Regis tered Nurse in the State of Washington, and currently working on my BSN degree at the University of Washington. You guessed right, I am still using this book for my papers,research etc.A few months ago I loaned this book to somebody, and of course, it has not been returned.
So I decided to buy another copy. Because I am continuing my education, I am sure I will use it for when I get into my Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner next year.If you are planning on staying or continuing your education within the medical field, this is a must own-text book! Trust me, it will come on handy when you need simple, fast, and easy to read information. But if you are not into this type of field or will not continue into this awesome path of life-time success, still BUY IT and OWN IT! Read it, and impress your friends with the knowledge this text book will provide for you for the next.at least, 50 years to come. Finally, don't let those publishers rip you you off! The information has been the same on this type of text books for at least the last decade.
They change covers for the sake of making more money but the INFORMATION IS THE SAME. They have a new edition out selling for almost 50 times more of what you would pay for this text. The human body still works the same and the information, from a medical point of view, should and will not change any time soon.
