Hawaii Preparatory Academy Pumpkin Patch

The Kohala Mountain Educational Farm was forced to close because the new general manager of Kahua Ranch, Bill Oaks, convinced the Kahua Ranch board of directors to terminate the remaining years of the farm's License Agreement. The ranch decision to cancel the license early came about, as I was told by Mr Oaks in May, specifically because the farm hosted a local group who held a closed private invitation only festival at the farm in February. This group, which Kahua Ranch management pre-approved for the farm to host, held their private festival at the farm and subsequently played music past curfew as well as most attendees camped in tents Friday and Saturday nights on the farm.Similar functions with music and camping were held at the farm prior to my moving to Hawaii. Crear indice a una vista oracle. I should let you know this group caused no damage and left the farm in the same condition as they found it.Upon the initial verbal notice of the license termination from Mr Oaks, I checked with local law enforcement to see if there had been any complaints from the community concerning the group's private festival at the farm.

I did not discover any complaints outside of Kahua Ranch's new general manager, Mr Oaks.Several weeks after the ranch terminated the farm's license, I thought we had found a way for the farm to continue onward. I was introduced to an impressive philanthropic couple moving to Hawaii Island who were in the process of buying a farm here on island. In talking much story, this couple decided they wanted to continue and expand upon the farm's mission of agricultural education, community service, school tours, pumpkin patch festivities with possible additional festivities starting in 2018 on their own farm. There was a meeting between Mr Oaks and this couple about the couple renting the farm from Kahua Ranch for the 2017 fall season in hopes of hosting school tours and purchasing pumpkins for an October festival as to not loose any momentum.

AlohaWe have received many inquiries this week asking if the farm is open on weekdays, especially since this is the school systems' fall break.Unfortunately the answer is No.On weekdays the farm puts on Farm Tours for schools, seniors, farmers and other groups.Farm Tours are to excite, motivate and educate all visitors about where and how our food is grown and distributed. Educational tours are our passion and mission at the KMEF. Tours at the KMEF have become so popular that we only have a few Tour openings left in the month. We apologize to and have heavy hearts for those who would like to come out to the farm on weekdays to enjoy the activities, food and beauty of the farm.We hope and trust those who work in all industries through the weekends can find someway to get their children and loved ones to the farm on weekends in October to enjoy the Pumpkin Patch Festival which the island has supported and loved over the years.Farmer Benjie.
